GREETINGS FROM SNOWLESS EUROPE

POSTED BY: Team 18/11/2008

Last weekend over in Europe we went on a mission down to the huge ice block of Der Dachstein Glacier where the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2008 was going down.  Der Dachstein Glacier was a nice solid chunk of ice with a rad park shaped into it that made perfect for a nice minishred.

MAX LOOS

On our way there we picked up O-Matic Snowboards teamrider Thomas Schwarz (Germany) and photographer Said Burg.

THOMAS SCHWARZ

Other teampeeps like Max Loos (Germany), Maya Gehrmann (Germany), and Robert Wallner (Austria) had already adventured there a few days before us.

During the qualification of the 4-star TTR event, Robert cracked his rib and had his only highlight saturday night when he had some cups, slept in a car of somebody he doesn’t know, with no permission, nor did they unlock it for him…

The Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 08 ended with a sensational super-final. Blue skies, awesome vibes, happy faces all around and more than 2000 people visiting the Atomic Superpark Dachstein to cheer for the 18 starters of the super-final.  The riding-level was incredibly high and the riders showed some of the most technical tricks as expected.  Go to the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam website to check a video of all the excitement..

Friday night we threw down a video premiere of Airblaster’s “August” movie in the mansion of Pleasure Mag.  ”August” is a new movie that everyone should check out!

In the end it was a really fun trip and great after parties that some peeps the following days weren’t able to function properly.

Todd Richards Heads to the Wild West…

POSTED BY: Team 28/10/2008

Omatic Snowboards Co founder Todd Richards spent his weekend in Arizona.

Mesa, Arizona to be exact is where Mr. Richards spent his Saturday.  One of our first Omatic retailers, “Ski Pro” put on their annual pre season event and of course the Omatic crew showed up to support the cowboy themed shindig.

We actually had the opportunity to show up early with coffee and doughnuts to share the Omatic message with the Ski Pro staff.  TR also spent time explaining to the shop kids why his board is designed to ride a specific way.

Surprisingly enough no other pros showed up to support our good friends in Arizona.  We want to throw a shout out to our good pals at Ski Pro.  Thank you for keeping the snowboard scene alive in Arizona!

LOUIE’S CELEBRITY SUMMER

POSTED BY: Louie 17/09/2008

Louie has been on the move this summer. Hitting New Zealand, Canada, Oregon, and Argentina just to name a few. He has been living the “Celebrity” lifestyle rolling around with Lil’ John and staring in music videos.

Catch Louie killing it in the newest Grenade movie “The Boned Age” as well as having a few shots in the Park City Mountain Resorts “I Ride Park City”.

Here is a little thought straight from Mr. Vito about his adventure to Argentina.

“I just got back from a nice lil trip to Argentina with the Nike Crew. Nike is always dope to travel with and we have a good crew of people there so I knew the trip was going to be dope. After flying into Bariloche, we drove to a small town about an hour from Bariloche. We went riding the next day testing our new color way boots we designed. It was fun riding around the resort, it was pretty small with old fashion chairs but there was a ton of wall hits and cat track jumps. Some of us had been to Hood to ride this summer, but it was nice to ride a whole mountain in the wintertime rather than a 2 lane run in the middle of summer. Plus its funny riding with people like Austin Smith, E Jack, and JBennee who you don’t get to ride with that much since they are doin their own thing during the winter. Bill from Windowseat Productions came out as a vacation and rolled with us, which is always a good time with him.

After that first day of riding the weather rolled in. Most of the resorts we went to didn’t have the highest elevation so this first resort was gettin the same weather the town was, rain. So we chilled for a day and a half trying to wait out the weather. We got to have a big feast at a homie who was the first person to bring Grenade to Argentina. Shout out to Diego. He has an ill crib on the lake and we cooked up whole sheep and everything. Such good eating. After that, we decided to peace out early to the other spot we were suppose to hit up, Chapelco. That was about a 4 hour drive on bumpy roads.

Chapelco was alittle bigger of a town and a little higher elevation. In Chapelco’s town we recieved the same weather, rain, but on the mountain they were getting some snow. We got some good pow days there, but by mid day, the weather would rise above freezing and it would turn into hot pow.

We ducked into some of the many forests they had there and got some ill shots with Cole Barash and Andy Wright. Jess Gibson is on the program filming everything, he and Pierre are the ones who brought you those sick Robot Food movies.

We got to spend one night in Bariloche but it was dead and I think everyone was ready to get home. The trip was fun as expected. Good times with good people. Shout out to everyone. Shin and David who were our guides on the trip, Bobby Meeks for killing it as TM as always, DK, Annie, Austin, Bennee, Ejack, Laura, A. Wright, Cole Barash, Tyler Heff (he also killed it shooting), Jess Gibson, Michael, and Steve.

DONT CRY FOR MY ARGENTINA. I will be back.
