Omatic Snowboards Co founder Todd Richards spent his weekend in Arizona.

Mesa, Arizona to be exact is where Mr. Richards spent his Saturday.  One of our first Omatic retailers, “Ski Pro” put on their annual pre season event and of course the Omatic crew showed up to support the cowboy themed shindig.

We actually had the opportunity to show up early with coffee and doughnuts to share the Omatic message with the Ski Pro staff.  TR also spent time explaining to the shop kids why his board is designed to ride a specific way.

Surprisingly enough no other pros showed up to support our good friends in Arizona.  We want to throw a shout out to our good pals at Ski Pro.  Thank you for keeping the snowboard scene alive in Arizona!

Omatic team rider Louie Vito makes a Celebrity appearance close to his home turf in the Midwest.

This past weekend one of the better rail jam events we’ve been to went down in good ole Milwaukee. Our good friends at Moda 3 once again gave back to the snowboard community by putting on a stellar event. There were 88 competitors and throughout the day there were between 3 to 5 thousand spectators.

There was so much going on between checking out the ams shredding rails, playing guitar hero from the back of a Scion, listening to sicky DJ’s or meeting totally awesome pros like Joey Sexton and Louie Vito!

Also the guys at Moda 3 did a great job of showcasing all the cool brands for the 08/09 season. This is where you could also find the famed Louie Vito signing posters and telling the kids how he designed his board to ride.

The Omatic family wants to give a shout out to our good friends and Moda 3 and the Empire Collective. The event was amazing, we’re glad we got to share our brand message with the local kids. Thanks for the support we’ll see you next year for sure!

Congrats to Hampus Mosesson for taking 2nd place this past weekend in Zurich, Switzerland for the Freestyle.ch 2008 Big Air Event.  Hampus stomping a Backside 9 Mute to Shifty secured him the 2nd place podium spot. 

The three day event with over 45,000 spectators piling into  Zurich’s Landiwiese were witness to world class snowboarders hucking themselves off the massive kicker.

A stacked talent pool of snowboarders including Hampus Mosesson, Stefan Gimpl, Scotty Lago, Eero Ettala, Antti Autti, Andreas Wiig, Mikkel Bang, David Benedek, Mathieu Crepel, Elias Elhardt, Colin Frei, Marko Grilc, Torstein Horgmo, Tim Humphreys, Markus Keller, Reto Kestenholz, Danny Larsen, Wang Lei, Arthur Longo, Risto Mattilam, Stephan Maurer, Wolfgang Nyvelt, Peetu Piiroinen, Iouri Podladtchikov, Chris Sörman, and Takato Taniguchi.

OK President, Erwin Flury, following the Super Finals said “I didn’t think anything could beat last year’s event, but I was wrong. freestyle.ch 2008 has exceeded everything that has ever come before it. We’ve really reached higher ground - both terms of the sports and the atmosphere. The expansion of both the infrastructure as well as the program for Friday and Saturday has obviously paid off”
